About "EDACS Standard."
Enhanced Digital Access Communication System
EDACS Standard, is a voice transmission system, which in this case uses Analog voice transmissions. The frequency can be heard on every scanner on the market, thou you must have a trunk tracking device (chip) placed inside the scanner to actually listen to live audio feed. Many scanners, that receive UHF, can be upgraded in receiving trunk tracking transmissions using a chip, which fits into the scanner allowing the scanner to encrypt the messages that are displaced between a unit to a unit, or a unit to a dispatch center.
BE ADVISED:
EDACS Frequency's that are used by departments or public safety groups, are extremely particular in how the frequency's fit into the scanner. For Example if Scanner Frequency 1 on the list is; 866.0987, then channel 1, frequency 1 needs to read 866.0987, on your scanner.
