Manchester Airport Operations
Alert 1: This indicates an aircraft emergency impending and will require stand by for airport and outside emergency equipment.
*Outside equipment will not be required for stand by for aircraft with less than 15 seats unless deemed necessary by the ARFF officer in charge.*
Alert 2: Indicates an aircraft is involved in an accident on or near the airport and the ARFF personnel and their equipment should proceed directly to the scene.
Upon a large scale emergency the following takes place:
Derry Dispatch: upon being notified of an emergency at the Manchester Airport by Londonderry Fire Dispatch, Derry dispatch will be responsible for notifying and dispatching all EMS resources.
Rockingham County Communications center (RCC): Upon being notified of an emergency at the Manchester Airport by the Derry Dispatch, will be responsible for coordinating the response of area hospitals and for patient routing.
CMED (north East Central Medical Dispatch: Based in Lawrence, MA. Coordinates medical communications, hospital communications, ambulance dispatching and the dispatch of helicopters for the Merrimack Valley and the North Shore of Mass. Will be used to coordinate communications with Massachusetts based hospitals, dispatch of helicopters and dispatch of ambulances for hospital decompression.
Manchester airport MCI Information
When medical services are required at the Manchester Airport, the MHT Airport ARFF Incident Commander shall advise the Londonderry Fire Department Dispatch of an estimate of the number requiring medical services using Levels 1-4 EMS response.
Levels of EMS Response:
Level 1: 2-20 Patients, 10 ambulances (8 ALS / 2 BLS).
Level 2: 21-49 Patients, 23 ambulances (15 ALS / 8 BLS). 2 Heavy rescues, 1 Communication Van, 1 Light Rescue, 3 Medical Helicopters, 2 School Busses, Manchester Red Cross, Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team.
Level 3: 50-99 Patients, 40 ambulances (20 ALS / 20 BLS), 2 Heavy rescues, 1 Light rescue, 1 Communication Van, 3 Medical Helicopters, 4 School busses, Manchester Red Cross and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team.
Level 4:100+ Patients, 58 ambulances (25 ALS / 33 BLS), 2 heavy rescues, 1 Light rescue, 1 Communication Van, 3 Medical Helicopters, 6 School busses, Manchester Red Cross and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team.
Level 5 is a general alarm response used when the EMS branch director and the Operations chief determine that a Level 5 response has not yielded sufficient ambulances to mitigate the incident. CMED will dispatch ambulances from the Metro Boston Area and will take 30-50 minutes to respond.
Triage terms:
Red – Life Threatening Injuries
Yellow – Non-life threatening injuries
Green – No injury or very minor injuries
Black – Dead

NH Med 1 – 155.340 MHZ Primary ambulance to Hospital radio frequency
NH Med 2 – 155.385 MHZ Secondary ambulance to Hospital frequency.
NH Med 3 – 155.280 MHZ Primary Hospital to Hospital radio frequency.
NH Med 4 – 155.175 MHZ Statewide ambulance to ambulance on-scene frequency.
